Terms of Service

These terms form the agreement between you and ShipPlus for the use of this website and related services. By creating an account or purchasing a label you accept them.

The service

We aggregate rates from multiple carriers, buy labels on your behalf, submit the shipment to the carrier, and provide tracking, invoices, statements, cancellation, returns and claim assistance. Pickup, transport and delivery are performed by the carriers — we are not a carrier.

Your account

Accounts are for business use. You must provide and keep accurate phone, company name and address, are responsible for everything done under your account (including sub-accounts and API keys you create), and must keep credentials and keys secure.

Prices, taxes and payment

Prices shown are the price at the time of purchase and, unless stated otherwise, include tax (calculated by destination province). Prices change with carrier rates, fuel surcharges and exchange rates; quotes expire and must be refreshed.

Payment is by card or from your prepaid balance. Charges are deducted from the balance; if the balance is insufficient, labels cannot be purchased.

Post-shipment carrier adjustments: carriers may re-weigh, re-measure or re-classify an address (residential, remote, etc.) after pickup and adjust the charge. We pass such adjustments through as billed — charged or refunded — and list each one with its reason in your billing page.

Parcels and prohibited items

You must declare weight, dimensions and contents accurately and comply with carrier and legal restrictions on prohibited and restricted goods — including but not limited to dangerous goods, flammables and explosives, improperly packed lithium batteries, live animals, cash and valuables, tobacco and alcohol, controlled substances, and anything unlawful.

Shipping in breach of these rules can result in the parcel being held, destroyed, returned, or in fines and extra fees, all of which are your responsibility.

Cross-border and duties

For cross-border parcels you provide the customs information and are responsible for its accuracy. Unless you choose sender-paid duties at checkout, duties and import taxes are payable by the recipient; return, storage or destruction costs arising from inaccurate declarations, unpaid duties or refusal are your responsibility.

Cancellation, returns and refunds

A label that the carrier has not yet picked up can usually be cancelled; on success the postage is returned to your balance. Parcels already picked up, in transit or delivered cannot be cancelled — use a return label instead. Some carriers do not support online cancellation, and the app tells you when that is the case.

A return label is a new, separately billed label priced at the rates in effect at the time.

Delays, loss and damage

Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees; weather, customs, carrier capacity and address problems can all cause delays.

For loss or damage you can file a claim in the app and we pursue it with the carrier. Coverage, filing windows and limits follow that carrier's terms (usually a low default limit unless you buy additional coverage). File as soon as you notice a problem and keep the packaging and photos.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect, consequential, lost-profit, goodwill or data losses; our total liability for any shipment is limited to the fees we charged you for it plus whatever compensation we actually recover from the carrier.

The service is provided “as is”. We work to keep it available and accurate but do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account for non-payment, abuse, fraud, or breach of these terms or carrier rules. You may stop using the service and ask us to close your account at any time; charges already incurred, including carrier adjustments, remain payable.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, and disputes are subject to the courts of Ontario.
